Wireless Network Interface Card (NIC) Driver Installation

Note: Only University at Albany faculty, staff, and students may use wireless network access in the University Libraries.

("Drivers" are software programs that enable the network interface card (NIC) to work with your laptop and the network.)

Choose the appropriate instructions for your laptop’s operating system using WPA Instructions.

Disclaimer: The University at Albany is not responsible for anything that might happen to the user's laptop or computer files while using the wireless network card, Software Installation Disk, or network connection.

Note: These procedures apply to conventional PCMCIA card slots. Do not try to force the card into a non-standard slot.

Responsible Use: Users of wireless network interface cards on the University’s network shall comply with all applicable University policies including the University at Albany Policy for the Responsible Use of Information Technology (http://www.albany.edu/policies/computer_usage/).
