Mary Jane Brustman is the Head of Dewey Library and Bibliographer for Social Welfare and Criminal Justice. She previously served as Reference Bibliographer for Dewey Library and prior to coming to the university, was a Reference Librarian at the University of New Hampshire. Mary Jane has a B.A. and M.L.S. from the University at Albany.

As a bibliographer Mary Jane's responsibilities include managing the social welfare, gerontology, and criminal justice collections, providing in-depth reference services to students and faculty in those disciplines, and providing instruction to classes. Mary Jane is active in the American Library Association, most recently as chair of the Social Work/Social Welfare Committee. Her other American Library Association service has been on the Executive Committee of the Education and Behavioral Sciences Section, the Gerontology Committee, and Criminal Justice/Criminology Discussion Group. She is currently chair of the Capital District Library Council, Coordinated Collection Development Committee.
