Suzanne Turner is the Coordinator of Access Services for the University Libraries. Suzanne has worked for the University Libraries since 1990, most of the time, and until recently, as Head of Interlibrary Loan. Before joining the University at Albany, Suzanne held several librarian positions at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC and at Clark University in Worcester, Ma.

Suzanne is an active member of the American Library Association, where she serves on a task force and has chaired a committee of the RUSA section. Additionally, she has served as President of the Reference and Adult Services Section of the New York Library Association and as a committee chair for the Capital District Library Council. She is a member of the SUNY Collections and Access Council.

Suzanne has an active record of service in the University Libraries, which includes serving as Chair of the Library Faculty Steering Committee. Additionally, on the University level, she has served as a member of the Governance Council of the University Senate.

Suzanne received her BA degree in English from Nazareth College of Rochester, NY and her MLS degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research interests include access versus ownership issues, as well as the impact of emerging resource sharing models and access service trends in academic libraries. She is the author of several articles, including “Ownership vs. Access and Low-Use Periodical Titles”, which she coauthored with Eleanor Gossen (Gossen and Irving) and which appeared in January 1995 issue of Library Resources and Technical Services.
