Top 5 Reasons Undergrads Use the Libraries

Computers – With more than 400 PCs and Macs across the 3 libraries, you can usually find a computer to use to work on a paper, check your email/facebook, and access Blackboard. Don’t want to sit at a table? Check out one of our 30 brand new laptops! No printer? We have several in each library, along with photocopiers. Printing and copying costs only 10¢/page! For no cost, take advantage of our scanners in the IMC

Books and Databases – Did you know we have over 2,000,000 books across all 3 libraries? We also have access to 1000s of journals online, most of which you can access from the comfort of your own room. Can't find what you need? Check with our reference librarians.

Research Assistance – Have a paper to write? Whether you need help choosing a topic, finding or citing your sources, have a quick or in depth question, a librarian is here to help: Reference Desks are staffed every day by librarians who can teach you how to access the resources you need - just come in person or call, IM, or text us. Need more time? Schedule an appointment with our PAWS service. Subject-specialists have in-depth knowledge of collections and resources. Many librarians have even created special online guides just for specific-topics.

Group/Individual Study Space – Whether you are looking for a quiet corner to hide out in, or big comfy chairs to work on a group project, we have something for everyone. Ask desk staff to point you in the direction of a good place to match your study needs, or check out one of our 19 group study rooms – complete with PCs, whiteboards, tables, and chairs!

IMC – The Interactive Media Center is the hidden jewel of the University Libraries. Located in the University Library, it consists of a computer lab with PCs and Macs, MIDI devices, scanners, printers, and audio/video digitization equipment. Digital cameras, camcorders, audio recorders, and almost any cable you can think of are available for checkout! Want to learn anything about Web Design, Photoshop, and more? Check out one of our free classes!
