The University Library's Web site supports the University Libraries' mission to strengthen and enhance the University's research, teaching, and public service programs by facilitating access to information and resources. Serving as a single, uniform gateway, the Web site provides efficient, convenient access to the Libraries' collections and services, as well as to networked information resources.

A. Support Academic and Research Programs

1. Provide a single access point to a wide variety of on-site and networked resources in all formats.
2. Facilitate access to library services for on-site and remote users.
3. Provide on-line instruction to users about research processes and the effective identification and use of information resources.

B. Utlilize appropriate, up-to-date technology

1. Take advantage of new developments as appropriate and fiscally possible.
2. Support integration of capabilities with other information systems within the Libraries and the University and with remote information systems.
