This citation guide is based on the 7th edition of the Modern Language Association of America's style manual, MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (available in the University Library: ReadyRef LB 2369 G53 2009). This citation style is used primarily for research papers in the arts and humanities disciplines. This guide is only a selection from what is covered in chapter 5 of the MLA Handbook, which should be consulted for a further explanation of this citation style.
