At the request of some applicants, we attempt to match two individuals who share a carrel by gender. If you have no preference, then you may choose not to identify your gender.

Study carrels are for PhD students and faculty only. Remember that there is a two-year limit on study carrel assignments. Graduate students should plan carefully to avoid termination of their study carrel assignment before their dissertation research is complete. Due to the limited number of carrels and the strong demand for them, the two-year limit is strictly enforced.

Submitting this form indicates your agreement to abide by the policies and regulations governing the use of Library Study Carrels and Lockers. Failure to abide by these terms may result in the termination or non-renewal of your study carrel assignment.

Borrowers with Registrar Blocks or Student Account Holds due to outstanding library fines are ineligible for locker or carrel assignments until their accounts are settled.

Library staff will contact you at the email address you provided above when a carrel is available. Carrels are generally available starting with the new academic year in Fall. Permission to renew a study carrel assignment may be requested using the carrel renewal application online.
