E-mail Notification Service

The table below lists the circulation notices available EXCLUSIVELY through email. Users may check outstanding loans, current due dates, status of recalled items, current fines, and additional information through the MyMinerva section of the Minerva catalog at http://minerva.albany.edu/. Email messages are a courtesy and users remain responsible for timely return of library materials and payment of any library obligations regardless of whether email notices are received. Users without an email address are not sent printed notices as a substitute for the email notices listed below.

Students

In accordance with the University’s Guidelines for Email as an Official Means of Communication with Students, circulation notices will only be sent to the University provided netid@albany.edu addresses. For students who prefer to use their personal email, Webmail has a built in forwarding feature that may be used to send all messages to an alternate address. Instructions for Webmail forwarding can be found at http://www.albany.edu/its/app_glance_email_students.htm.

Faculty/Staff

Circulation notices are sent to faculty/staff’s university email addresses by default. However, faculty and staff can select a preferred, alternate e-mail address for all University notifications through MyUAlbany. Instructions for selecting a preferred, alternate email address can be found at http://www.albany.edu/whois/fixup.html.

Courtesy Borrowers (Non-UA Faculty/Staff/Students)

Circulation notices are sent to the email address provided at the time of registration for courtesy borrowers and others who are not current employees or registered students . Courtesy borrowers are responsible for contacting library staff to update their email address information manually .
