Your days of wondering when the bus is going to show up are over! A joint project of the Office of Environmental Sustainability and the Office of Parking and Mass Transit Services has equipped the UAlbany Bus Fleet with GPS trackers so that riders can determine if their bus is running on schedule. Monitors have been placed in high traffic areas around the UAlbany campuses, including in the University and Dewey Libraries, which display updated departure times based on the GPS information. This information is also available on a special web site, special web site which includes a map with the real time location of each bus in the fleet. To access this information via your smartphone, look for the QR code at bus stops.
There are plans to outfit the CDTA buses that serve the UAlbany campuses with GPS devices so that riders can track those buses as well. Currently the schedule information (not real-time) for some city buses can be found on in the tracking system.
