Mary Jane Brustman is Associate Director for Public Services for the University Libraries. She serves as the administrator for Reference, User Education, Access Services, and Information Commons for the University Libraries. She has previously served as Head of the Dewey Library and Social Welfare and Reference Bibliographer at Dewey Library. Prior to coming to the university in 1983, she was a Reference Librarian at the University of New Hampshire. Mary Jane has a B.A. and M.L.S. from the University at Albany.

Mary Jane is active in the American Library Association, most recently in the Library Leadership and Management Association's Measurement, Assessment and Evaluation Section. She has also been active in the Association of College and Research Libraries in the Education and Behavioral Sciences Section and the Anthropology and Sociology Section Criminal Justice Discussion Group.

As a bibliographer Mary Jane's responsibilities include managing the criminal justice collection, providing in-depth reference services to criminal justice students and faculty and providing instruction to classes.
