Mary Jane Brustman
Associate Director for Public Services;
Head, Dewey Library and Bibliographer for Criminal Justice
Mary Jane Brustman is Associate Director for Public Services for the University Libraries. She serves as
administrator for Reference, User Education, and Information Commons for the University Libraries as well as
Head of Dewey Library and Bibliographer for Criminal Justice. She has previously served as Social Welfare and
Reference Bibliographer at Dewey Library. Prior to coming to the university in 1983, she was a Reference Librarian at
the University of New Hampshire. Mary Jane has a B.A. and M.L.S. from the University at Albany.
Mary Jane is active in the American Library Association, most recently as chair of the Association of College and
Research Libraries, Education and Behavioral Sciences Section Nominating Committee and chair of the Social Work/
Social Welfare Committee. Her other American Library Association service has been on the Executive Committee of the
Education and Behavioral Sciences Section and Criminal Justice/Criminology Discussion
Group.
