Richard (Dick) Irving
Bibliographer for Political Science,
Public Administration & Policy, and Law
Dick Irving has been a bibliographer at the Dewey Graduate Library since 1982. From 1979 to 1982, he was a Reference Librarian at the Dewey Graduate Library. Mr. Irving previously worked as a librarian at the Attica Correctional Facility; he was the first accredited librarian to be employed as a librarian at a NYS correctional facility. Mr. Irving has a B.A. from Colgate University, an M.L.S. from State University College at Geneseo, and a M.A. from the School of Criminal Justice at the University at Albany.
Dick is responsible for managing the political science, public administration, public policy, and Dewey law collections, and serving as the University Libraries' liaison with the Department of Political Science and the Department of Public Administration & Policy. He also serves as a Reference Librarian at the Dewey Library and conducts instructional sessions regarding the use of library and Internet resources.
