The Alumni Carillon, ca. 1972.
In the 1960s
the Alumni Association
raised $25,000 to
place the chimes for a
Maas-Rowe
Symphonic Carillon on top of the
water tower on the Uptown
Campus.
During 1972-73, the Association
launched the Annual fund to
supplement
decreasing funding for the University
from New York State.
The funds raised
in the first two years paid for the
construction of
the Alumni House and
Conference Center (opened in 1976).
This year the
Annual Fund
will raise and estimated $2,000,000
for the University.
