Requesting a Dialog Citation Search

Librarians will preform a Dialog search for materials published prior to 1996.
RSS feeds in Scopus helps keep track of new citations to a scholar’s work on an ongoing basis.


In order for us to conduct a citation search in the ISI Social SciSearch, SciSearch or Arts & Humanities
Search databases available through our Dialog subscription, the following information is required:

The search is for and the search is requested because:


List full name and variations under which faculty member has published,
including middle name, middle initial, compound or hyphenated name

Coauthors’ full names and any variants

Known misspellings of faculty member's name and co-authors' names


Please submit a listing of complete citations in chronological order of all the items you wish to have searched:

  • List by lead (or first) author
  • include complete entries for thesis, journal articles, books, book chapters
  • if results are desired for conference proceedings and/or presentations, include complete citations in the chronological listing by lead author
  • please highlight entries for which more in-depth information would be of assistance – no more than five; if we have enough advanced notice, more information will be provided


Indicate output format – Please note the timelines for each – we need this time to present the most accurate tabulation so that the case is strong.
