What is ILLiad?
ILLiad is our automated Interlibrary Loan and UA Delivery Services system.
It is state-of-the-art request management software. ILLiad automates routine
interlibrary loan functions to provide faster service in a paper-free environment.
It also processes delivery requests for items from the University at Albany's
collections.
Connect to ILLiad
Do I need a separate ILLiad account for Interlibrary Loan and UA Delivery Services?
No. Once you have registered as an ILLiad user, you use the same user ID
and password for both services.
What are the advantages of using ILLiad?
A. ILLiad allows the libraries to integrate interlibrary loan
and UA Delivery Services into one convenient interface.
B. lLLiad enables the libraries to improve turnaround time for interlibrary
loan requests.
C. Registered ILLiad users no longer have to fill out personal contact information
for each request.
D. Registered users are able to access information about the status of requests
through the Web, any time, from any location.
E. Registered users have the ability to remotely renew interlibrary loan
materials through ILLiad.
I thought ILLiad was only for interlibrary loan of materials not owned by
the University at Albany. What if I want a journal article or book delivered
from downtown to a main campus library?
Starting in late Summer 2003, ILLiad is used for both delivery requests from
within the Uniiversity Libraries and interlibrary loans from other institutions.

Is there electronic document delivery through ILLiad?
Yes, users are able to choose to have their interlibrary loan articles
delivered electroncailly as PDF files. For delivery of articles from U Albany's
collections, only electronic delivery is available.
How do I place a UA Delivery or Interlibrary Loan request?
A. Through ILLiad. There are links on the University Libraries'
Home page, including under "request forms". To go directly to
ILLiad, the URL is: https://illiad.albany.edu/.
B. Through Firstsearch. When placing Firstsearch orders, you will get a
message instructing you how to register with ILLiad if you have not already
done so.
What if I forget my password?
Go to ILLiad: Forgot Your Password?. Fill out the form, and you will be issued a temporary password to log onto ILLiad. We recommend that you change this password to match your NetID password.
Or, Interlibrary Loan staff will assist you during public service hours
(Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m). or you can e-mail libill@albany.edu. You
can also phone our office at 518-442-3613.
