What is a Reference Book?
A reference book is designed to be consulted when trustworthy information is needed, rather than reading a book cover to cover for information. Reference books often consist of a series of entries listed alphabetically or in some other arrangement under headwords or headings. Examples of reference books include almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, biographical sources, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, etc.
