John M. “Tim” Reilly, president of United University Professions (UUP) from 1987 to 1993, being interviewed for a television show by New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). This image appeared in the February 1988 edtion of The Voice with the caption: 'On the air- UUP President John M. Reilly is interviewed for a segment of 'Inside Your Schools,' the montly television show produced by UUP's affiliate, New York State United Teachers. February and March shows deal with the themes of getting into college and succeeding in collge.' In the bottom margin is a sticker identifying the photographer. Tim Reilly was a professor of English at the University at Albany, SUNY when he was elected president of UUP in 1987. He served as president from 1987 to 1993 and prior to that was a member of UUP’s Executive Board from 1983 to 1987. Reilly had been a chief union negotiator and chaired the Negotiations Committee, and was credited with winning TIAA-CREF pension reform. He was also a vice president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and a board member of New York State United Teachers (NYSUT).
