Scope and Content:

The collection contains minutes, 1981–1989; correspondence, 1975–1988; constitution and by–laws, 1987; and dinner journals, 1969–1983.

Biographical / Historical:

Association of labor unions in or near Troy, NY. The labor council is the successor to either the Troy Trades' Assembly (founded in 1864) or the Workingmen's Trades' Assembly (founded in 1882).

Acquisition information:
All items in this manuscript group were donated to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives, by the Troy Area Labor Council, AFL-CIO. A few items (the president's correspondence and some of the minutes) were photocopied and placed with the rest of the collection. This manuscript group was preserved as a part of the Harry Van Arsdale, Jr., Labor History Project.
