Collections at the New York Public Library:
Collections include organizational records, personal papers, periodicals,
audiovisual materials, books, and ephemera.
- The Lesbian Herstory Archives:
The collection is international in scope and includes print and non-print materials,
audio-visual materials, and ephemera that deal with lesbians and lesbian lives.
- Cornell University
Human Sexuality Collection: The collection includes the papers of Robert Lynch,
James M. Foster, and Brian McNaught; numerous organizational records including The National
Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the National Lesbian and Gay Health Association,
the Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychologists; the video archives of Phil Zwickler;
and the papers of Heather Findlay, publisher of Girlfriends magazine and H. Lynn Womack, publisher
of the Guild Press and affiliated gay-oriented mail order enterprises. There are
lesbian periodical titles from Dorothy Feola and George Fisher and the papers of
lesbian author Valerie Taylor.
- Smithsonian National
Museum of American History Archives Center: The Archives Center houses several
collections related to gay artists. The collections can be searched through the on-line
catalog, SIRIS.

Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library at Duke University:
Houses several collections including the North Carolina Lesbian and Gay Health
Project Records, Atlanta Lesbian Feminist Alliance, Gay and Lesbian Caucus of the
Modern Language Association, Front Page Records, Bobbye S. Ortiz Records, and
more.
- Central
Connecticut State University Gender Equity Collections: Includes the John
Loughery Collection, Pattee Lesbiana Collection, and the records of the G.W.
Henry Foundation. The University also has a selection of newsletters, newspapers,
periodicals and books related to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender subjects.
- Gay and Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest: Housed at the
Oregon Historical Society, the
collections focus on gay and lesbian communities in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.
- Gerber Hart Library: The
Gerber Hart Library collects and provides access to archival collections regarding
gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities particularly in Chicago and
the Midwest region of the United States.
- GLBT Historical Society:
Maintains collections of primary source material about gay, lesbian, bisexual,
and transgender history primarily in Northern California.
- Princeton University Lesbian Gay
and Bisexual Alliance: A social and political organization for Princeton
University students. The collection spans the years 1972 to 1995.

and Life: A complete bibliographic reference to the history of the United
States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Published since 1964, the
database comprises over 450,000 bibliographic entries. Available to
University at Albany students and faculty only.
- Gender Watch:
a full text database of unique and diverse publications that focus on how
gender impacts a broad spectrum of subject areas. With its archival material,
dating back to 1970 in some cases, GenderWatch is a repository of an important
historical perspective on the evolution of the women's movement and the changes
in gender roles. Publications include scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers,
newsletters, regional publications, books, and NGO, government and special
reports. Available to
University at Albany students and faculty only.
- ZNet's Gender Watch:
A collection of articles, essays, internal and external links relating to
gender, sexuality, sexism, feminism, queer politics and struggles.
- Voice of the Shuttle:
Started in 1994 this database is available through the web. It focuses on
humanities disciplines. It can be searched by keyword or through a directory
of topics.

of Homosexuals 1933-1945: From the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
- Out at the Library:
Celebrating the James C. Hormel Gay & Lesbian Center: This exhibit
from the San Francisco Public Library celebrates the 10th anniversary of the
founding of the Library's James C. Hormel Gay & Lesbian Center by highlighting
its collection and offering a rare look into what an archives is and how it
ensures the legacy of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities.

Stonewall and Beyond: Lesbian and Gay Culture: "The online edition of
a Columbia University Libraries exhibition held from May 25 to September 17,
1994 in conjunction with the international celebration of the twenty-fifth
anniversary of the Stonewall Riots."
- We Raise Our Voices: Celebrating
Activism for Equality and Pride in Boston's African American, Feminist, Gay
and Lesbian, and Latino Communities: The Gay & Lesbian Pride &
Politics segment of the exhibit explores how Boston-area gays and lesbians
defined and empowered themselves and fought for positive social change. Representative
documents from the Northeastern Archives and Special Collections have been
selected to highlight gay and lesbian struggles for political equality and
recognition, the expression and celebration of gay and lesbian identities,
and the forging of supportive communities.
