Description:Continuation of the annual report of the Executive Committee of the New York State Normal School of 1844 beginning at page 41 of 78. Report of the committee on colleges, academies and common schools, in regard to the distribution of the Literature Fund and the establishment of a normal school to educate teachers, to the state assembly. The section on normal schools addresses the definition of normal or model schools and offers background on their precedence in Europe. A constitution for the normal school is outlined. The report closes with how a higher morality can be achieved in students with proper instruction delivered by professional instructors and with a reminder of the cost of such measures. An "Act For the establishment of a Normal School" is on page 79. This document is 38 pages in length.
