Norman Studer speaking in front of a group of children at the Downtown Community School in New York City. John Coss described as a 'good fiddler' in a caption accompanying this photograph in a scrapbook from the Norman Studer collection. Coss was likely a resident of the Catskill Mountains region in New York State and performed at Camp Woodland and the annual Folk Festival of the Catskills. This scrapbook may have been assembled after a trip to the Catskills by Downtown Community School students. This image is not yet available online. Contact the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives at speapap@albany.edu or by clicking the link at the bottom of this page for additional information.
