This Web site features an alphabetical listing of important reactions in organic chemistry. The reactions were drawn using ChemPen chemical drawing software.
From Organic-Chemistry.org, this site contains information on the most important name reactions in organic synthesis. Each entry includes the reaction, a description, the mechanism, and literature citations.
This site contains the complete contents of the volumes of Organic Syntheses from John Wiley & Sons, Inc. It is searchable by text or by structure (requires ChemDraw plugin), and browsable by reaction type.
Name reactions in organic chemistry are listed and described on this Web site.
This service, which requires free registration, allows you to search a detailed solvent database for solvents which meet your personal solvent usage profile.
Download an all-purpose chemical drawing and graphics software program from Advanced Chemistry Development (ACD). The package allows the use of templates or free hand; click and draw molecules, ions, stereobonds, text annotations, polygons, arrows, etc.; and it generates molecular weight and formula, and provides estimates of density, refractive index, molar volume, etc.
Browser plug-in for viewing 3D molecular structures; widely required for viewing chemically-oriented Web sites. Registration is required.

The OpenScience Project contains a directory of open source scientific software. The chemistry section lists resources under several categories including: biochemistry, biophysical, chemical information, crystallography, molecular viewers and editors, organic, periodic tables, physical, spectroscopy, surfaces, and theoretical and computational. A search engine is also included.
BMRB contains a repository of NMR results from peptides, proteins, and nucleic acids. There is also a collection of computer software applications used for biomolecular NMR.

An integrated spectral database system for organic compounds, which includes 6 different types of spectra: MS, 13C NMR, 1H NMR, ESR, IR, & Raman.

Derived from critical evaluation of the published literature, the Photoelectron Spectroscopy Database provides access to the energies of many photoelectron and Auger-electron spectral lines. The database contains line positions, chemical shifts, doublet splitting, and energy separations, and may be searched by element, line type, line energy as well as other variables.
Contains mass spectra for 12,000 compounds, IR spectra for over 8,000 compounds, UV/Vis spectra for over 400 compounds.
NMRShiftDB is an open database of chemical structures and their associated nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data. It is a growing database that can be searched by several keys.
Sigma-Aldrich provides access to FT-NMR and FT-IR Raman spectra for many of their products. To find the spectra of a compound, do a product search or browse the products catalog. The spectra are available in PDF format.
From the Chemistry Library at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, this Website provides examples for citing references in the text and the bibliography of a research paper. It is based on The ACS Style Guide: Effective Communication of Scientific Information (Science Library / Reference: QD 8.5 A25 2006).
Written by a chemistry professor at Deakin University in Australia, The Chemistry Style Manual is a book-length manual covering all aspects of chemistry communications, writing, and research. It may be freely downloaded, or used on the Web.
Based on The ACS Style Guide: Effective Communication of Scientific Information (Science Library / Reference: QD 8.5 A25 2006), this four-page guide summarizes the most commonly used formats.
