Why do I get an error message when I try to connect to one of the libraries' databases using EndNote?
If you have not downloaded the proper connection file for the database from our Connection File Downloads page, you will need to do so. If you have already downloaded the file and you are still getting an error message, the problem may be that it is not in the folder EndNote is using for connection files. In EndNote, go to Edit --> Preferences --> Folder Locations --> Connections Folder and check to make sure that the connection file you downloaded is there.
As an alternative to connecting and searching a database with the EndNote interface, check to see if "Direct Export to EndNote" is an output option for the database. If so, you can search the database without EndNote and use the Direct Export to easily add citations to your EndNote library.
