For Databases and Online Journals
University at Albany Users Only

Having problems with your NetID? Check out NetID's in the University Libraries.
This icon appears in many places throughout the University Libraries Web site. It appears near links to databases and journals to which the Libraries subscribe. The icon means that you can access the database or journal from off campus ONLY if you are currently affiliated with the University. Non-University courtesy borrowers cannot access these materials.
If you are on campus, you do not need to authenticate yourself to access these resources.
This off-campus service is achieved through the use of a proxy server, which channels your requests to connect to these sites. The proxy server makes sure that you are a registered library borrower, and then connects you to the specified sites.
This proxy server machine may be used to connect to library resources only by members of the University at Albany community. All use by any others, for any purposes, is forbidden.

Authorization is a two step procedure:
- Be sure you are a registered library borrower. You must currently be affiliated with the university as faculty, student or staff.
- When you click on the link to one of our restricted resources, an authentication page will appear that prompts you for your User Name and Password.
1. NetID Authentication
The University-wide NetID can be used in conjunction with your Unix cluster Password. This is the password you use for Unix logon, to get into your WebMail e-mail account, or to access WebCT. This password may differ from the one you use to access MYUAlbany and must be configured separately. It is recommended that you configure this password to be the same as your MYUAlbany password.
For more information about using the NetID for library services, see NetID's in the University Libraries.
Forgot your Unix cluster password or want to change it? You can configure your password online by connecting to:
