Is your laptop on the fritz? Need to work on a presentation in our group study area? Stop by the Dewey circulation desk to check out one of our three laptops for in-library use. You can check them out for four hours at a time. They include the major Microsoft Office products and are connected to the campus wifi network.
We also have a Kindle Paperwhite available to loan for two weeks at a time. Reading on a computer screen can be straining, but the Paperwhite has an eye-friendly e-ink display. Load Kindle titles you’ve purchased onto the device, use the reader to download items for free from a public library system, or visit digital repositories like Archive.org to download a huge variety of out of copyright works and classics – the choice of content is yours!
Other items available for checkout include headsets for use with Dragon Naturally Speaking (language recognition software available here in the library), as well as regular headphones, and a set of dry erase markers for use in our group study area, all of which feature a four hour checkout time.
A quick trip Uptown to the Interactive Media Center will yield even more options. From camcorders, to microphones, to projectors, and more, you can check out items that will allow you to create and present media-rich projects.
For more information about non-book Dewey checkouts, stop by the circulation desk anytime or contact Chris Masella at firstname.lastname@example.org.
