With scaffolding and construction gear on all sides, you may be wondering if the library is open and what the best way to enter the building is! Not to worry, we are definitely open and are glad to be welcoming many of you in already this semester! The library's hours are:
Concerning the scaffolding and especially our entrances, work on the library's exterior is ongoing, but moving right along. At this stage of the process, you will notice scaffolding has been erected over the front entrance of the building leading up the stairs. This scaffolding is in place for your protection and allows us to keep the front door open during the renovation process - so feel free to enter the library that way.
With work stretching out from the building now, you will also notice scaffolding along and inside the peristyle that leads from Draper to the Library's side entrance (yes, that is officially what that curving, elevated outdoor walkway is called - you learn something new everyday, right?). Some of the scaffolding being set up in and around the peristyle is in place to allow for continued access to the side entrance - so the library will also remain accessible via the side door.
Stay tuned for more updates! If you have questions about building access during the renovation, please feel free to get in touch with Lindsay Van Berkom at firstname.lastname@example.org
