Intersession Services and Building Closure

The Dewey Library will be closed from December 21 to January 2, however we will be open for the majority of intersession! We will reopen for intersession from January 3-22 with the following hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: CLOSED

We will also be closed on Monday, January 16th, for the holiday.

Need to conduct research during the break or looking for a quiet place to study or plan for the semester ahead? The University Library Uptown remains open for business throughout intersession, with hours from 8:00am - 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, while closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Reference Services

Chat reference will continue to be available 24/7 during intersession. In person reference will be available on a limited basis at the University Library while the Dewey Graduate Library is closed. January 3 through January 22, the Dewey reference desk will be staffed on a limited basis but reference librarians will be available so stop by or make an appointment!

Impacted Services

For periods when Dewey is closed to the public (Dec. 21-Jan. 2), library materials will be paged and held for pickup at the University Library and the book drop will be closed for returns. Please request needed materials via the library's catalog. Delivery of library materials to Dewey will be suspended on December 20. Materials on hold for users at Dewey not picked up by December 20 will be sent to the University Library for pickup. Dewey will reopen, and all delivery and return services will resume on January 3. If you have questions about these services, please call (518) 442-3613.
