Catherine Dwyer

Subject librarian for Criminal Justice, Law, Political Science, Public Administration & Policy, and Government Information

 

Cathy Dwyer has been at the Dewey Library since July 2015. Previously, she was at the University Library as Head of Reference and Government Information Librarian.

Cathy is responsible for building and maintaining the Criminal Justice, Public Administration and Policy, Political Science, Law collections and providing library instruction and reference assistance for students and faculty in these programs. Since 1989, she has been the University Libraries’ Federal Depository Library coordinator, serving as the Libraries’ point of contact with the U.S. Government Publishing Office, and coordinating all of our federal depository activities.

Cathy is a member of the New York Library Association and the Capital District Government Information Group. Her research focuses on government information and libraries. She was the 2001 recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship and the 2009 recipient of the Mildred Lowe Award for outstanding contributions to government information librarianship.

She received her M.L.S. from the University at Albany, and a B.A. in English from Siena College.
