This collection contains Kaskel's correspondence with Peter Lindt, Karl O. Paetel, Udo Rusker, Albert Thiele, and others, 1939-1964.
- Biographical / Historical:
Joseph Kaskel was born on March 13, 1892 in Posen, Germany. Kaskell was a lawyer in Berlin who emigrated to the United States in 1939. Kaskel received a law degree from Columbia Law School and worked for the Council for a Democratic Germany and was secretary of the American Committee to Aid Survivors of German Resistance. Kaskel died in his summer home in Madison, New Hampshire on September 5, 1989.
