Background

Scope and Content:

The collection contains manuscripts by Richard Plant on Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx and on gay victims of the Nazis, manuscripts and offprints of articles, book reviews, and film reviews, and materials for two unwritten novels, one about a German emigre family in New York City.

Biographical / Historical:

Richard Plant taught German and comparative literature at the New School for Social Research an at City College of the City University of New York. He died in March 1998.

Acquisition information:
All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives by Richard Plant between 1979 and 1981.
