The Standish Room

The University Libraries is pleased to offer use of the Standish Room in the Science Library to University Departments, Faculty, and Staff.

Named after John Spencer Standish, this room honors the legacy of Mr. Standish’s contributions to the University at Albany. With elevated views of the University’s Track and Field complex, and views of Thatcher State Park’s Helderberg Escarpment, this room is a great place to host speakers, conferences, and specialty events.

Features

  • Seating capacity of 84, with a default classroom style layout, and several self-service arrangements such as: lecture, conference, and workshop.
     

  • Self-service AV equipment with detailed instructions: Desktop Dell computer w/ DVD player, projector mounted on the ceiling, drop-down projection screen, speaker system, microphone mounted on the podium. 
     

  • Tables for catering service at the rear of the room, with access to a kitchen space equipped with sink and countertops, dishwashing machine, stove, and refrigerator.
