Welcome to the Winter 2023 edition of the Library Update newsletter.
January marks a special time on the calendar. It’s a month where we can look back on what we accomplished over the past 12 months, as well as look forward with optimism to the year ahead. That sentiment is the theme of this newsletter. You will read about achievements in the Fall 2022 semester, with stories about projects worked on by our Anna Radkowski-Lee Graduate Assistants and Library Ambassadors. You will also read about the future of the University Libraries with renovation of the Current Periodicals Room underway.
I am also excited to introduce a new column, My Library Story, where individuals across campus share what libraries mean to them. Dr. Carol Kim, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, is our first profile. She offers a can’t-miss interview that I know you will enjoy.
It is my pleasure to begin the year by reaching out with this newsletter. Your continued support ensures the success of students and faculty who rely on the University Libraries in their pursuit of academic excellence. Please keep us in mind, and if you are ever in the area, stop by and say hello.
Warm regards,
Carey Hatch
