Printing
The University offers free printing to all UAlbany students in the three University Libraries and the George Education Center. Printing services in these facilities is limited to UAlbany students. Faculty and staff should utilize office or departmental printers. Rapid Copy continues to offer fee-based printing services for all members of the UAlbany community. The University Library has scanners available for creating and saving PDFs, and e-resources accessed on public computers can be saved to cloud storage or emailed to personal email accounts. Librarians and staff can assist visitors in locating off-campus printing services.

Copy/Scan
The Libraries replaced photocopiers with scanners that can create PDF, image, and MS Word files. Public scanners can be found in the following locations:

Public printers available to students are also capable of scanning documents.

Staff will create photocopies or pdf scans for in-person researchers and can arrange for other reproductions. There may be a fee for this service. Staff will determine if an item can be reproduced without damage to the original item. Restricted materials may not be reproduced in any form. For a complete list of fees, consult Department staff.
Microfilm/Microfiche/Microcard Readers & Scanners
All three University Libraries have equipment available to read and scan microform materials. There is no charge for making digital copies of microforms. The UScan+ machines can be used to read and create digital copies of microfilm, microfiche, and microcard materials. The Minolta 6000 machines can be used to read microfilm and microfiche. Microform readers can be found in the following locations:
