July 8, 2026 On August 10, 2026, ProQuest Ebook Central will be transitioning from Adobe Digital Editions to the new Ebook Central Reader App for eBook downloads. Only the downloading of full eBooks will be affected. Chapter downloads will remain unaffected, and full eBooks can be read online without any change to the process. On August 10, eBook vendor ProQuest will change how full eBook downloads are managed and accessed. Chapter downloads and online access to full eBooks will remain unaffected. What's Changing: Users will need to install the free Ebook Central Reader App to download full eBooks for offline reading.Adobe Digital Editions will no longer be compatible. eBooks already downloaded in Adobe Digital Editions as of July 13 can continue to be read there until the checkout expires, or a new file for the book can be downloaded into the new app instead.The new app is designed for both mobile and desktop reading. Options are available for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android.A registration code is needed for each device the app is installed on.When you select a full book for download, you will be given a code number from Ebook Central that you will need to enter into the app to open the downloaded eBook. Alternatively, a code can be generated at any time while authenticated on the Ebook Central platform.
