The University at Albany's annual Welcome Week ran from August 17th through August 23rd. A full university-wide recap and video is available in the News Center. Here is just a sampling of how the University Libraries participated in the festivities! First-Year Commuter Student Reception Before Convocation by Candlelight on August 19th, the University Libraries hosted first-year commuter students for a reception in the Minerva Room. More than 70 incoming commuter students attended. Students enjoyed refreshments and played games, getting to know each other before the semester begins. This summer's reception marks the third year of partnership between the University Libraries and the First-Year Experience. Students attending the First-Year Commuter Reception Spin the trivia wheel and win a prize at Great Danetopia Great Danetopia On Saturday, August 22nd, the University Libraries participated in the 13th annual Great Danetopia event. Held at Casey Stadium, Great Danetopia offers students the opportunity to meet with more than 60 different campus offices, departments, and resources. More than 300 students visited the University Libraries' table, featuring trivia, swag, and plenty of information! Welcome Back Resource Fair August 24th marked the first day of classes for the fall semester, and with that comes the University Libraries' annual Welcome Back Resource Fair. Located outside the University Library, this event featured a number of tables students could visit to learn about the libraries and more. Featured partners included the Office of Sustainability, the New York State Library, and the Minerva Center.
