Welcome to the Spring 2025 edition of the Library Update newsletter!
I am proud to share this community and service themed installment with you today. I say it often, the University Libraries are more than a repository of books. We are a vibrant, evolving space where students, faculty, staff, and the entire community can come together to learn, to grow, and also to serve.
In this edition, you will read about many ways our libraries are engaged with, and serving, the community. The dedication of the Great Dane Hall of Service, for example, is a symbol of our commitment to selflessness. Our partnership with the Albany Public Library demonstrates engagement with our city and her community. The new Education Curriculum collection lends itself (no pun intended!) to use in schools across the Capital Region.
Plus, we highlight the service of our student workforce, and the achievements of our faculty and staff as the intellectual and operational backbone of the University Libraries.
Engagement and service are institutional priorities for the University at Albany. They are also the philosophical pillars of the University Libraries. It is more than our pleasure to serve in this regard, it is our duty.
