Introducing the inaugural cohort of the University Libraries Internship Program

The University Libraries are proud to introduce our inaugural Internship Cohort. This spring we welcomed three students from the Information Science master's program. While they worked on specific projects in their homebase units, they also embarked on a series of visits with various departments across the University Libraries, giving them a broad view of the many different aspects of academic libraries.

When I was selected as the Digital Processing Assistant for the M.E. Grenander Special Collections and Archives last August, I almost didn't believe it.

Libraries expand the reach of UAlbany scholarship with read-and-publish agreements

On January 1, 2023, SUNY entered a three-year read-and-publish agreement with Cambridge University Press (CUP). This agreement – a market-based solution for expanding open access (OA) to scholarship – provides UAlbany access to all 400+ journals published by CUP while offering UAlbany-affiliated corresponding authors unlimited OA publishing benefits at no additional charge to the author or institution.

Following on the success of this effort, the University Libraries launched two similar agreements in January 2024, with the Institute of Physics and American Chemical Society.
