June 24, 2026 We've been busy creating in the University Libraries this spring. I invite you to join the excitement! Carey Hatch, Dean of University Libraries It's hard to believe, but more than a month has passed since the University at Albany celebrated its 182nd commencement. I still think about the excitement of graduation. Because of your generosity, our graduating student employees and Library Ambassadors were able to honor their experiences here by adorning their caps and gowns with University Libraries' graduation sashes. The pride they took in wearing them as they marched on graduation morning is a profound testament to the importance of libraries in our students' lives.Your contributions were visible across the ceremony, as students designed and created their own graduation sashes in our brand new Creative Technologies Lab. This fantastic makerspace environment, open to all students at the University, would not be possible without your generous gifts. In this newsletter, you will hear firsthand from a student whose experience with our makerspace prepared him for a career in the health sciences. You will also learn about other exciting developments, including the Live at the Library concert series and the impact of graphic novels in the classroom. Also, if you're not already following us on Instagram (@UAlbanyLibraries), I highly recommend you do so. We are now an ARLIES award winning account! As always, I thank you for your continued support of the University Libraries.
